Sri Lanka, Sept. 27 -- The Sri Lanka Navy has seized a consignment of suspected illegal drugs during a special operation carried out in the Kusumanthurai coastal area of Madagal, Jaffna, in the early hours of today (27).

According to the Navy, personnel attached to Sri Lanka Navy Ship (SLNS) Agbo conducted the operation and apprehended one suspect, along with a boat suspected of being used to transport the drugs for trafficking.

The Navy is currently conducting further investigations into the seized illicit consignment and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
