Sri Lanka, Sept. 28 -- The national Mahapola scholarship award programme for the 2024/2025 academic year, scheduled to be held today (28) under the patronage of the Prime Minister, was postponed.

The official website of the Lalith Athulathmudali Mahapola Higher Education Scholarship Trust Fund stated that the date for the ceremony will be notified in the future.

Meanwhile, the opposition leader Sajith Premadasa alleged that the government planned not to grant scholarships to university students who do not attend this ceremony, he said this while joining a public meeting held in the Galigamuwa area yesterday.
