Sri Lanka, Nov. 2 -- The National Deepawali Festival 2026 will be held on November 7 at the Sri Muthumariamman Temple in Matale, bringing together religious leaders, government representatives and members of the Hindu community to celebrate the Festival of Lights.

The event will take place from 8 a.m. to noon, organised by the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs and the Department of Hindu Religious and Cultural Affairs, in collaboration with the Matale District Secretariat and the Management Board of the Sri Muthumariamman Temple.

The festival will be held under the patronage of Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs Hiniduma Sunil Senevi, with the participation of Deputy Minister Gamagedara Dissa...
