Sri Lanka, Aug. 23 -- Dr Nanda Malini, the charming moonbeam of Sri Lankan music who comforted the hearts of fans with her incomparable voice and blended the reality of life into song, bid farewell to the nation yesterday, and her final rites were performed at the Borella General Cemetery amidst the deep sighs of sorrow from millions of Sri Lankans.

Dr Nanda Malini ended her life journey recently at her residence located in Nawala, and her 83rd birthday falls today as she was 82 years old at the time of her passing.
