Sri Lanka, April 17 -- The resignation of former Energy Minister Kumara Jayakody arrived far too late, stated Namal Rajapaksa, Member of Parliament and National Organiser of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.
In a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account, the MP pointed out that a simple resignation cannot compensate for the massive financial losses incurred by the public.
Namal Rajapaksa emphasised that President Anura Kumara Dissanayake must take direct responsibility for appointing an individual like Kumara Jayakody to a critical institution such as the Energy Ministry, despite previous allegations of corruption.
