Sri Lanka, Sept. 18 -- National Organiser of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa, currently in remand custody in the Airbus procurement case, is scheduled to appear in court again today (18).

Rajapaksa was arrested on September 4 after appearing at the Bribery Commission to provide a statement regarding the deal.

According to investigators, over 1.4 million euros were allegedly paid as a bribe into a Singaporean bank account.

Of that amount, USD 800,000 was allegedly transferred to a company owned by a Sri Lankan businessman, who is accused of subsequently channelling Rs. 100 million to Rajapaksa.

Meanwhile, Rajapaksa has also been named as a suspect in a parallel money laundering investigation.
