Sri Lanka, April 27 -- Jaffna District Member of Parliament Ramanathan Archuna was taken into custody following an incident in the Periyavilan area of Jaffna.
The arrest follows allegations that the MP pointed a firearm at and threatened two women during a dispute. Local reports indicate that the confrontation originated from a land ownership conflict; the MP claims the property belongs to him, while another party also asserts ownership. A related case is currently being heard at the Mallakam Magistrate's Court.
