Sri Lanka, Sept. 29 -- A motion filed by the Attorney General seeking an order to execute the prison sentence against Venerable Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera following the revocation of his presidential pardon was called before the Court of Appeal today.

Appearing before Appeal Court Judges Mayadunne Corea and Lakmali Karunanayake, the proceedings moved forward without the presence of the monk.

President's Counsel Anura Meddegoda, representing Gnanasara Thera, stated that his client was recovering from an illness and requested a future date to study the motion before making submissions.
