Sri Lanka, Oct. 11 -- A group of Buddhist monks staged a protest march in Kekirawa, expressing opposition to the removal of the robe of imprisoned Venerable Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera and his appearance in court wearing civilian clothing.

According to a local correspondent, monks representing temples in Kekirawa, Palagala and Palugaswewa took part in the demonstration.

The monks gathered in Kekirawa town carrying placards and proceeded in a silent protest march to the Kekirawa Clock Tower roundabout, where they assembled to express their opposition.
