SriLanka, April 4 -- Cyber scams conducted through mobile phones show an upward trend during the festive season, according to the Computer Emergency Response Forum.

Senior Information Security Engineer Charuka Damunupola states a risk exists regarding the circulation of fake advertisements and links via the internet claiming to offer discounts, prize money, or special promotions in view of the upcoming Sinhalese and Tamil New Year.
