Sri Lanka, Sept. 20 -- The Department of Irrigation states that there is a risk of minor flooding in low-lying areas surrounding the Mahaweli River in the Pasbage Korale Divisional Secretariat Division of Kandy due to heavy rainfall.

Accordingly, the department has urged communities living in close proximity to the Mahaweli River to remain highly vigilant.
