Sri Lanka, Aug. 12 -- A shooting took place in the Middeniya Ulhitiya area a short while ago, according to the Police Media Division.

The mother of an alleged organised criminal known as 'Backhoe Saman' sustained gunshot injuries and was admitted to hospital following the incident.
