Sri Lanka, Sept. 27 -- Metro Bus is scheduled to introduce 104 new buses across seven routes in the Western Province from September 29, with the aim of providing passengers with safer and more comfortable public transport while helping ease traffic congestion in Colombo.

Metro Bus Chairman S.M.U.P. Thilakaratne said preparations are completed to begin operations with the new fleet on September 29.

The official launch is expected to take place under the patronage of the President.

The new buses will serve seven routes centred around Colombo and are expected to provide passengers with reliable services that operate according to designated routes and timetables.
