Sri Lanka, Oct. 29 -- The Department of Immigration and Emigration has announced that reserving a date and time online starting today is mandatory for applicants seeking passports under one-day and normal services through regional offices.

Department Media Spokesperson and Deputy Controller Mahesh Karunadasa stated that this decision was taken after considering the various difficulties and inconveniences faced by members of the public visiting regional offices.
