Man rescued from drowning in Panadura beach
Sri Lanka, May 31 -- A 40-year-old man who got caught in a strong current and was being swept out to sea while swimming at the Panadura beach was rescued yesterday (30) by a group of officers from the Police Lifesaving Unit on duty there. Panadura police stated this.
The individual who survived the incident is a 40-year-old resident of the Kiriella area.
He was swimming at the Panadura beach when he suddenly got caught in a current and disappeared, and the lifesaving officers immediately acted to rescue him.
The police officers provided preliminary first aid to the man brought to the shore, and subsequently took steps to hand over the recovered individual to his relatives, Panadura police say.
