Sri Lanka, May 4 -- A 36-year-old individual died last night after a dispute with a friend escalated into a physical attack in the Gurunagar area of the Jaffna police division.

The victim and a friend consumed alcohol together in Gurunagar when a sudden argument broke out between them. During the confrontation, the friend struck the victim with a glass bottle. Although the critically injured man reached the Jaffna Teaching Hospital for treatment, he later succumbed to his injuries.

Jaffna Police officers acted on the received information and arrested a 42-year-old suspect in connection with the fatality. Authorities plan to produce the suspect before the Jaffna Court today. Further investigations continue under the direction of the Jaff...
