Sri Lanka, July 20 -- A person died after being hit by a train near the Bambalapitiya railway station.

Bambalapitiya Police initiated investigations upon receiving information that this individual was struck by a train travelling from Aluthgama to Maradana yesterday evening (19).

The individual who lost their life was a 34-year-old resident of the Piliyandala area.

The body of the deceased lies at the Colombo National Hospital mortuary, and the Bambalapitiya Police conduct further investigations into the incident.
