Sri Lanka, May 5 -- Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama today (5) ordered that the suspect known as "Loku Patti" remain in assisted custody until 15 May.

The order follows investigations into the crediting of Rs. 330 million to his account in violation of the Money Laundering Act.

The Magistrate issued the directive following submissions made by the Illegal Assets Investigation Division.

The first suspect in the case appeared before the court via Zoom for the proceedings.

During a previous court hearing, two other suspects, including the shaman of the Gandara Devalaya who had been remanded in connection with the same incident, were released on bail.

The case is set to be recalled on 15 May.
