Sri Lanka, April 10 -- Legal action will be taken against individuals damaging the Pettah Central Bus Stand, which was modernised and opened to the public on the 8th. Deputy Transport Minister Prasanna Gunasena stated this while inspecting the bus station.

The destruction of the bus station is an organised and planned act, the Deputy Minister claimed. He emphasised that damage to this facility, built with public tax money, cannot be allowed and noted that work will proceed in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Air Force.

The Air Force agreed to stay for the next three months, and discussions regarding this arrangement take place today. Security at the bus station will be further increased, the Deputy Minister added.
