SriLanka, March 13 -- Sri Lanka's largest water ground was discovered near the towns of Akuressa and Pitabaddara.
A continuous water flow of approximately 10,000 litres per minute occurs at this location.
Previously, the largest such water source was reported from the Madhu area.
This marks the first instance where a water source capable of consistently producing 10,000 litres per minute was found during the drilling of a tube well, according to Indrajith Gamage, the Geologist in charge of the Southern Province for the National Water Supply and Drainage Board.
