Sri Lanka, May 11 -- Early landslide warnings were issued for several Divisional Secretariat divisions across 8 districts by the National Building Research Institute (NBRI) due to ongoing heavy rainfall.

This directive remains active from 9:00 PM tonight (11) until 9:00 PM tomorrow (12).

Level 1 'Watch' warnings, indicated by the color yellow, apply to the following areas: Bandarawela in Badulla; Walallawita in Kalutara; Pasbage Korale, Akurana, Gangawata Korale, Panvila, Yatinuwara, Ganga Ihala Korale, Doluwa, and Udapalatha in Kandy; Mawanella, Bulathkohupitiya, Yatiyantota, Aranayaka, Kegalle, and Rambukkana in Kegalle; Ridigama in Kurunegala; Rattota, Naula, and Ambanganga Korale in Matale; Badalkumbura and Wellawaya in Monaragala; ...
