Sri Lanka, July 22 -- Deputy Labour Minister Mahinda Jayasinghe stated that directives were issued to the Labour Commissioner General to investigate the fire that erupted at a helmet factory in the Homagama-Katuwana Industrial Zone, which killed five workers.

The Police is also continuing with an investigation into the incident.

Five individuals died in a fire that broke out yesterday morning(21) at a helmet manufacturing factory in the Katuwana Industrial Zone, Homagama.

An officer from the Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte Fire Brigade stated that their bodies were burnt beyond recognition.

Victims' bodies are currently at the Homagama Base Hospital.
