Sri Lanka, Aug. 7 -- The unrest that arose within the Kuruwita and Pallansena prisons today (07) has been completely brought under control.

Prison Media Spokesperson Commissioner A.C. Gajanayake announced that they managed to control this situation with the support of prison officers, the Sri Lanka Police, and Police Special Task Force (STF) officers.

The media spokesperson further mentioned that after controlling the turbulent situation, steps were taken to especially tighten security by deploying the police, the Police Special Task Force, and the tri-forces to further ensure the security of those prison premises.
