Sri Lanka, May 13 -- The highest rainfall in the 22 hours ending at 6.00 am today was recorded in Kesbewa Piliyandala. The Disaster Management Centre stated 204 millimetres of rain fell in the area.

Veyangoda recorded 145.5 mm, Gillimale 121 mm, and Watupitiwala 105.5 mm of rain. The Department of Meteorology announced that heavy rain and strong lightning may occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, North Western, Northern, and North Central provinces, as well as in the Trincomalee, Galle, and Matara districts.
