Sri Lanka, Sept. 10 -- A fine of Rs. 104,000 was imposed on a businessman from the Kelaniya area found guilty of 32 charges, including using bottle packaging containing a glass marble and using an antioxidant prohibited in Sri Lanka.

The order was issued by the Maligakanda Additional Magistrate.

The fine was imposed in connection with a stock of food seized while being transported for sale in the Jinthupitiya area of Colombo.

Public Health Inspectors informed that the food stock contained drinks with glass marbles as well as food items containing antioxidants banned for use in food.

The Maligakanda Additional Magistrate imposed the fine after the businessman pleaded guilty to the 32 charges filed regarding the incident.
