Sri Lanka, Oct. 14 -- A special statement regarding the recommendations of the interim report of the committee appointed to update the rules, regulations, and standing orders under the Prisons Ordinance was made today (14) at the Ministry of Justice by Minister of Justice and National Integration, Attorney-at-Law Harshana Nanayakkara.

A special discussion took place on October 08 between the President and Venerable Theros representing the Mahanayake Theros of the Three Nikayas regarding the situations that arose when Venerable Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thero was imprisoned, the Minister stated.
