Sri Lanka, April 22 -- A peace walk aimed at promoting global harmony began in Dambulla a short while ago.

The event is scheduled to continue until April 28 with official state sponsorship. Vietnamese monk Venerable Panyakara, who is participating in the walk, arrived in Sri Lanka early yesterday (21) alongside "Aloka" - The Peace Dog.

A special program is in place to ensure the security, health, and welfare of the pet, who has gained international attention as a symbol of peace.
