Sri Lanka, July 4 -- Showers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-western provinces, as well as the Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya districts today.

The Department of Meteorology announced that heavy falls exceeding 50 mm are likely in some parts of these areas.

Several spells of showers are also expected in the Anuradhapura and Mannar districts. Furthermore, strong winds ranging between 40 to 50 kilometres per hour will blow periodically across the western slopes of the central hills, the Northern, North-central, and North-western provinces, and the Ratnapura, Hambantota, and Trincomalee districts.
