Sri Lanka, Oct. 7 -- The Attorney General filed indictments in the Matara High Court against nine police officers, including former IGP Deshabandu Tennakoon, in connection with the shooting incident at the W15 Hotel in Weligama.

The charges were read out to the defendants before Matara High Court Judge Nandana Amarasinghe today (07).

The High Court Judge ordered the release of all nine defendants on bail.

Accordingly, the court ordered each defendant to be released on a cash bail of Rs. 250,000 and four personal bails of Rs. 10 million each.

The court issued a further condition that two of the personal guarantors must be close relatives of the defendants.
