Sri Lanka, Sept. 9 -- Indian Naval Ship Udaygiri, an indigenously built multi-role stealth frigate, arrived at the Colombo port on 08 September 2026 for a three-day operational turnaround.

The vessel's visit coincides with the landmark visit of Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to Sri Lanka.

The visit aims to enhance bilateral cooperation with the Sri Lanka Navy through technical training and experience sharing conducted by a mobile training team.

Essential machinery and equipment spares for the Sri Lanka Navy and Sri Lanka Air Force were also brought aboard the ship.

Commanding Officer Captain Vikas Sood will formally call on Rear Admiral GHSE De Silva, Commander Western Naval Area of the Sri Lanka Navy.
