Sri Lanka, March 5 -- Officers attached to the Narcotics Control Unit arrested two Indian nationals yesterday (04) for attempting to illegally smuggle a stock of cannabis into the country.

The suspects, aged 26 and 37, arrived from Thailand on flight FD 142 on March 03.

During an inspection at approximately 1:59 AM, customs officials discovered narcotics concealed within their hand luggage.

One passenger carried 1,525 grams of "Kush" cannabis and 182 grams of hashish, with an estimated street value of Rs. 15,250,000.

The second passenger possessed 1,513 grams of Kush cannabis, valued at approximately Rs. 15,130,000.
