IMF delegation expected in Sri Lanka today
Sri Lanka, Sept. 10 -- An International Monetary Fund staff mission is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka today for discussions with authorities on the country's economic reform programme and broader financial outlook.
The delegation, led by Sri Lanka Mission Chief Evan Papageorgiou, will remain in the country until September 23, to conduct the combined 7th Review under the Extended Fund Facility arrangement, and the 2026 Article IV Consultation.
The outcome of the discussions is considered crucial for Sri Lanka, as successful completion of the review would allow the country to maintain access to international financing.
