Sri Lanka, May 23 -- A human head has been discovered washed ashore behind a major tourist hotel along the Moragalla beach area in Aluthgama, according to police.

Police stated that the discovery was made this morning following a phone call received by the Aluthgama Police.

Authorities have not yet identified the deceased person, and no further details about the victim are known at this time.

Aluthgama Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
