Sri Lanka, March 10 -- Financial assistance provided to families living in high-risk landslide areas for house construction will be increased to Rs. 2.5 million following cabinet approval.
Previously, the maximum amount granted for building a single house under this resettlement programme was Rs. 1.6 million.
The proposal to increase these funds was submitted by the President to provide relief to beneficiary families, considering the rising costs of construction materials and current economic conditions.
