SriLanka, April 4 -- Hospital treatment services face disruptions due to a symbolic strike launched by the Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) starting at 8:00 AM today over unresolved issues in the transfer process.

Hiru correspondents noted that clinics and outpatient departments in the majority of hospitals remained non-functional.

However, specialist doctors are not supporting this strike.

GMOA spokesperson Doctor Chamil Wijesinghe stated that the executive council of the association is currently meeting to decide on the future course of the strike action.
