The Colombo Trial-at-Bar sentenced former Inspector General of Police Pujith Jayasundara and former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando to death yesterday (31) over charges including criminal dereliction of duty by failing to take action to prevent the Easter Sunday terrorist attack despite receiving intelligence information.

Bench President Judge Priyantha Liyanage announced the verdict while delivering the majority decision of the judge bench.
