Highest rainfall recorded in Kuliyapitiya
Sri Lanka, May 15 -- The highest rainfall of 193 mm was recorded in the Kuliyapitiya area during the past 24 hours ending at 8:30 AM today. Furthermore, the Department of Meteorology stated that a rainfall of 175 mm was recorded from the Penrith Estate in Avissawella, 162 mm from the Veyangoda area in Gampaha, and 152 mm from the Kirindiwela area in Gampaha.
Meanwhile, a heavy rain warning notice effective until 8:30 AM tomorrow (16) was issued for the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Northwestern provinces, as well as the Galle and Matara districts.
