Sri Lanka, Sept. 19 -- An increase in rainy conditions can be expected in the south-western parts of the island over the next few days starting today (19).

Showers may occur from time to time in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North Western provinces, as well as in the Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya districts.

Fairly heavy rainfall above 50 mm may occur at some places in the Sabaragamuwa province and in the Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.

According to the statement, rain or thundershowers may occur at scattered locations in the Uva province and in the Mullaittivu, Batticaloa, and Ampara districts after 2.00 PM.
