Sri Lanka, March 28 -- Physical and mental well-being face potential risks due to the ongoing intense heat, according to Medical Specialist Sarath Gamini de Silva of the Sri Lanka Medical Institute.
Meteorologists do not expect significant rainfall over the next 10 days. Meteorologist Nimal Bandara noted that felt temperatures will likely continue to rise during this period as a result of the dry conditions.
Police advise the public to take necessary security precautions if leaving windows open at night to cool their homes. Suggested safety measures include opening only glass panes while keeping security grills intact, ensuring all doors remain locked, and maintaining adequate lighting in dark areas to deter intruders.
