Sri Lanka, May 26 -- The main suspect linked to the murder of a woman by strangulation at the Great Western mountain peak in Lindula has been arrested after three years.

He was produced before Nuwara Eliya Magistrate Pushpika Dharmadasa and remanded until June 9.

The suspect, a 44-year-old resident of Homagama, was taken into custody after information regarding the long-unsolved Lindula Police case was forwarded to a special investigation unit under the Central Province Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police.

Acting on this information, investigators arrested the suspect, who had been hiding in the Aluthgama area, on the 24th and handed him over to Lindula Police on the 25th for further questioning.
