Sri Lanka, Sept. 26 -- One hospital worker was killed and five others were injured following a sudden explosion at the Polonnaruwa National Nephrology (Kidney) Hospital around 4:00 AM today (26).

The injured were immediately admitted to the Polonnaruwa General Hospital, where three of them remain in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit, according to our correspondent.

The deceased has been identified as a 34-year-old father of one residing in the Hatharaskotuwa area in Gal Oya. Hospital sources stated that the injured include two other hospital workers, a security officer, and two civilians.
