Government to establish renewable energy training centre
Sri Lanka, Aug. 5 -- Cabinet approval has been granted for the establishment of a new renewable energy training centre under the Ceylon German Technical Training Institute (CGTTI), with an estimated investment of Rs. 398 million.
The proposed facility will be constructed on a 3.11-hectare plot of land in the Mayurapura Division of the Walawa Zone, which is owned by the Mahaweli Authority.
The project is being implemented following a Memorandum of Understanding signed on February 10, 2025, between the CGTTI and the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority (SLSEA), aimed at meeting the increasing demand for skilled professionals in the renewable energy sector.
