Sri Lanka, July 6 -- The gazette notification issued in 2022, prohibiting the use of rice or paddy for the production of animal feed, has been revoked.

An extraordinary gazette to this effect was issued on July 3, signed by Acting Chairman of the Consumer Affairs Authority, S. M. D. Sooriyakumara.

Accordingly, the new gazette permits the use of rice or paddy for animal feed production, including its use as an ingredient, as well as its sale, offering for sale, bulk storage, warehousing, transport, distribution, and purchase for such purposes.
