Sri Lanka, Sept. 22 -- The government published the Appropriation Bill for the 2027 financial year via gazette notification.

State expenditure for 2027 was approved at 4,992.77 billion rupees, an increase from the 4,434.36 billion rupees allocated for 2026.

An amount of 4,845 billion rupees was allocated to be charged from the Consolidated Fund for debt liabilities and payments.

Meanwhile, it was decided to maintain the maximum borrowing limit for 2027 without change at 3,800 billion rupees.
