Sri Lanka, June 24 -- The Court of Appeal on Wednesday resumed consideration of a writ petition filed by former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa seeking an order to prevent his arrest in connection with the Easter Sunday terror attacks investigation.

The petition was taken up for a second consecutive day before a bench comprising Court of Appeal President Judge Rohantha Abeysuriya and Judge Sarath Dissanayake.

President's Counsel Romesh de Silva made further submissions on behalf of the former president during the proceedings.

Following the arguments, the court adjourned further consideration of the petition until July 6.
