Fuel distributors warn of possible shortages across Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka, Oct. 5 -- Fuel distributors have warned of potential shortages across the country unless ongoing pricing and supply issues are resolved.
Recently, Lanka IOC, Sinopec, and R.M. Parks informed filling station operators that distribution would need to be restricted because they were forced to sell fuel below purchasing costs. Although the government subsequently increased prices and introduced a diesel subsidy during the latest revision, the Petroleum Dealers' Association stated that the three companies still view the pricing structure as loss-making.
