Four arrested over massive drug haul at Colombo Port
Sri Lanka, Sept. 1 -- The Central Crime Investigation Bureau has stated that the stock of 472 kilograms of narcotics discovered inside a container at the Colombo Port is valued at over 15 billion rupees.
Four individuals, including three Pakistani nationals aged 33, 36, and 51, have been arrested in connection with the incident.
The consignment was discovered yesterday (31) inside a container kept in the port yard for re-export, after being brought to the Colombo Port by sea from a foreign country.
Following information received by the Central Crime Investigation Bureau regarding two suspicious containers at the CICT terminal of the Colombo Port, police had taken steps to report facts to court on the 17th.
