Sri Lanka, Nov. 1 -- Four suspects have been arrested a year after a 24-year-old youth was allegedly brutally assaulted, murdered, burned, and dumped into the Kelani River following a special operation by the Colombo District Crimes Division.

Police identified the victim as a 24-year-old resident of Sedawatte Road, Wellampitiya.

Among the four individuals taken into custody are two businessmen.

Police revealed that the victim's motorcycle had been dismantled and hidden inside a house in the Sellakataragama area, where officers successfully recovered the parts.

Investigations revealed that on October 11 of last year, the victim had been consuming alcohol with a group of individuals in the Sedawatte area of Wellampitiya.
