Sri Lanka, July 20 -- The funeral of former Inspector General of Police C.D. Wickramaratne, who died of gunshot wounds, is scheduled to take place today (20) at the Borella General Cemetery with full police honours.

The body lies at a private funeral parlour in Borella for the public to pay their respects.

Former Inspector General of Police C.D. Wickramaratne died from a shooting last Friday at his residence located in Talahena, Malabe.

Police suspect that he committed suicide by shooting himself with the firearm of his personal security officer due to a personal reason, and investigations are underway through two police teams regarding the incident.
