Sri Lanka, Sept. 10 -- Former Mayor of the Bandarawela Municipal Council Janaka Nishantha Ratnayake was remanded until the 16th. This was following an order issued by the Bandarawela Magistrate's Court.

He was arrested in connection with an incident involving the alleged preparation of forged documents related to a financial fraud that occurred at the municipal council.

Three employees of the same municipal council were previously arrested in connection with the incident.
